Theater Satu Lampung Holds the Epic Drama Story "Where Are You, Radin?"

Theater Satu Lampung is sponsoring a theater performance featuring the heroic story "Where Are You, Radin?" by director Iswadi Pratama Covered Theater Building Lampung Cultural Park, Bandar Lampung, 5, 6 and 7 December 2024 starting at 19.00 WIB.
This theater performance was able to be held thanks to assistance and support from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture through the 2024 Cultural Assistance Facilitation program.
The epic story of the Lampung hero Raden Inten will be staged in a colossal manner involving around 113 artists from Lmmpung Province with the title: "Where are you, Radin?
According to Iswadi Pratama, screenwriter and director, the play about the national hero Raden Inten II will present the phases of the struggle against colonialism and imperialism in the 1850-1856 era.
"However, we will also present the historical background in the form of the collapse of the VOC, the arrival of the Dutch East Indies, the collapse of the Sultanate of Banten and the implementation of stelsel culture in Lampung," explained Iswadi.Furthermore, Iswadi explained, this performance which takes the form of an epic will be presented cross-dramatically; involving dance artists, martial artists, actors, Lampung oral literature, choir groups, video art, documentaries and installations. "With this cross-dramaturgical approach, we hope that the flavor of the epic performance will be thicker," said the Founder of Theater Satu Lampung.
According to Iswadi, the performance "Where are you, Radin?" what he wrote did not intend to represent history in its entirety. Rather, it will present a reflection on the history of Radin Inten so that there are values that can be used as a basis for attitudes and ways of thinking to face today"s realities.
"It is indeed not easy to compile and put together puzzles about the history of Radin Inten II"s struggle because of limited data which can be different from each other. "Because of that, we are trying to explore values that can be reflected in our lives today," said Iswadi, explaining his concept.
