Surya Vista Orchestra Music Performance Enlivens the 2024 FKL Event

The 2024 Old Town Festival (FKL) grand event opened with a magnificent musical performance by the Surya Vista Orchestra. Before the event opened, Pragina Gong Indonesia Got Talent"s performance which featured a dynamic contemporary dance entitled: "Balakosa" amazed the audience. On that occasion, a fashion dance with the theme: Ancient, Present, Later, featuring designs from House of Pinky presented by children, teenagers, and adult models from Tandawa Ratri Semarang who reflected the theme.
The opening of the 13th Kota Lama Festival with the theme "Heritage in Diversity" took place in the courtyard of the RNI Building, Jalan Mpu Tantular, Kota Lama, Semarang, Thursday (05/09/2024). FKL 2024 takes place from 5 – 15 September 2024.
The opening of the FKL was marked by the release of 13 balloons by Special Staff from the Ministry of Craft, Mr. Yosua Simanjuntak, representing the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, accompanied by the Head of the Central Java Tourism and Sports Department, Agung Hariyadi and the Head of the Semarang City Department of Culture and Tourism, Wing Poespo Joedho, Chair of the FKL Committee, Agus Suryono, who symbolized the 13th FKL and 24 balloons indicating the year it was held. by finalist Putra Puti Kota Lama 2024.
Chairman of the 2024 FKL Committee, Agung Suryono, in his report said that this FKL activity aims to invite the public to preserve the historic area of Kota Lama so that it becomes a desirable international tourist destination and cultural heritage. Agus added that the FKL event has been included in the Kemenkraf Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) tourism activities agenda.
FKL 2024, which carries the title "Heritage in Diversity," continued Agus, displays cultural diversity in the city of Semarang, such as Javanese, Malay, Chinese and Arabic culture. Various interesting events, including Orchestra in Diversity, the Kota Lama River Competition, Sentiling Market Nostalgic Culinary, Wayang On the Streets, and International Fiesta Folklore, have been prepared to brighten up this festival.
"It is hoped that this FKL will not only be a cultural celebration but also become a gathering and creative place for creative actors and art and culture history activists, it will strengthen the position of the Old City of Semarang as a center for arts and culture known at the national and international level," said Agus Suryono.
Meanwhile, Josua Simajuntak Stafsus representing the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy said that the Old City Festival has been included in the Khraisma Event Nusantara in the future.the quality of implementation continues to improve. "We hope that FKL can become a trigger and attract foreign tourists to visit the city of Semarang. "In turn, the goals of FKL can be realized," added Yosua Simanjuntak.
Surya Vista Orchetra"s musical performance enlivened the opening of FKL 2024. The orchestra group from Senrang led by Paulus Surya performed stunningly to enchant the audience. Likewise, Okerstra, which was founded on January 23 1999, performed in collaboration with Congkrock, the legendary Semarang music group in the Keroncong and Rock genres.
