Spectacular, Hopimpa Festival Holds More than Two Thousand Works of Fine Art

The grand arts celebration "Hompimpa Alaium Gambreng Fest" was sponsored. The fine arts exhibition with the title: "Art Creation Waste Play Festival" which was held at the Merby Club, Jalan MT Haryono No. 953, Semarang, Central Java, Monday (02/09/2024) was opened by the Director of the Merby Club, Drg. Grace W Susanto. Interestingly, this festival displays two thousand works of fine art from various cities, namely the work of professional artists, lecturers, teachers, communities and people with disabilities.
The Hopimpa Alaium Gambreng Festival, which is being held in collaboration with the AECItrue Community, Merby Club, and Maretha Hati Natara Foundation itself, will last for a whole month until October 2 2024. The opening is marked by the beating of a gong as a symbol for "woro-woro" to come enjoy the exhibition.
Director of the Merby Club, Grace W Susanto, in his speech said that the exhibition was held collaboratively to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Merby Club.
"I really appreciate and thank the AECItrue Community, and the Maretha Hati Natara Foundation who collaborated with the Merby Club to hold this spectacular exhibition. This exhibition could be the biggest fine art exhibition in Semrang, even Indonesia. More than two thousand works of fine art are displayed at the Merby Club from the front room on the 1st floor to the 3rd floor, filled with works of fine art in the form of; sketches, batik, installations, paintings and others," said Grace W Susanto.
Merby Club, continued, Grace, 7 September 2024 will be exactly 35 years old. I founded the Merby Club 35 years ago. Since its founding until now, the Merby Club has consistently been active in the fields of education and arts.
The Merby Club is also open for artists to collaborate and also provides a gallery exhibition space "Gandasuli" for artists to exhibit.
"Through the fields of education and arts, the Merby Club wants to take part in building character and helping to make the nation intelligent through art and culture," said the initiator of Wayang On The Street, which is now one of the cultural icons of Semarang City,Grace added that the city of Semarang is now "moving around" and artistic activities are starting to become less quiet anymore. He gave an example: Wayang On The Street is now one of the arts that is popular with millennials. "I invite everyone present here to watch Wayang On The Street at the Kota Lama Festival which will take place at Metro Poit 6 September 2024. The guest star is Inayah Wahid, daughter of Gus Dur "who is famous for often playing theater and show-up comedy," said Grace in promotion.
Meanwhile, Singgih Adhi Prasetyo from the AECItrue Community, in his speech, said that this exhibition is a form of collaboration that accommodates creators and art activists to display their creative results. "This festival is designed to be an annual event whose mission is to provide easy access for many communities to form a sustainable creative ecosystem," said Singgih, a visual artist who is also a lecturer at UPGRIS.
Singgih added that this festival is also a research laboratory (quality of work creation and increasing activities of the arts community) in Semarang, Central Java and Indonesia.
“The festival also aims to create works of art through collaboration between artists and the community. Together with the public, we produce all kinds of crafts (the results of hand skills) of an artistic or artistic nature. "Hone personal skills (skills) and create interaction activities between people," concluded Singgih.
After the opening, the audience was guided by Singgih, Rudi Voller, and Krisna Priyastika, around to see the visual works on display.
