Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) 2023, “Say All with Arts”

Surakarta - The ceremonial beating of the kenong and the display of fireworks marked the start of the 2023 Solo International Performing Arts (SIPA) masterpiece. This international standard event was officially opened at Solo"s Vastenburg Fort. Central Java, Thursday (31/09/2023). The beating of the kenong represented by Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Angela Tanoesoedibjo, Irawati Kusumorasri and a number of other figures became a symbol of the opening of the event, followed by a magnificent fireworks display that colored the sky of Bengawan City.
Say All with Arts
Director of SIPA 2023, R. Ay. Irawati Kusumorasri, M.Sn., said that SIPA 2023 carries the theme: "Say All with Arts", which means that art should be able to play a role when the world begins to lose its beauty. It is hoped that the beauty that art exudes can bring harmony to world life.
“When we think of art, we are actually celebrating the beauty of the world. “Say All with Arts; Say everything with art so that beauty continues to color life," he said.
SIPA 2023 mascot, Wirastuti Susilaningtyas, appeared to open the series of shows dressed in a magnificent blue dress with the Lively Candrakirana Art Center, presenting a work entitled "Symphony in Harmony".
The dance performed represents the embodiment of harmony between sound, movement and property elements in its performative visuals. The main focus in this dish is spirit and diversity in harmony.
Artists from Lithuania, AURA Dance Theatre, did not miss showing a theater entitled "Without The Moon" which represents solitude in the dark.
In addition, Sumatra Ethnic from Medan presented the work "Horas Oppung" which tells the story of the different characters in the boarding house of immigrants from Batak lands. Meanwhile, the Gubang Art Community from Kutai Kartanegara also presented "Tudung Saji" as a symbol of meaning about behaving in accordance with society"s etiquette.
Followed by the performance of Malaysian artists, College of Creative Arts UiTM (CCA) who presented a performance titled "SAPTA", a work inspired by the search for each individual for someone, something, love, community, belief that continues.
