Citizen News
Artist Rudy Murdock collaborates with designer Ireni Kusuma to hold a Visual Art Show. The event with the title: "Liberating" was sponsored at Casa Roberto Bistro, Jalan Erlangga Tengah, Pleburan, Semarang.
The Visual Art Show was opened by Dico Ganinduto, Saturday (10/08/2024) and was lively with a fashion show by designer Irene Kusuma.
Dico Ganinduto, accompanied by his wife, soap opera artist Chacha Frederica, said that he really appreciated this exhibition event. Dico said that in the future the government must build more public art facilities.
“More art spaces must be built to facilitate and accommodate the creativity of creative artists and young people. "Positive activities like this must be supported so that the arts continue to grow," added Dico, the nickname of the Regent of Kendal Regency who is ready to enliven the election market for Mayor of Semarang.
Celebrating Art and Creativity.
Artist Rudy Murdock said the visual art show was a collaboration with designer Irene Kusuma. According to Peru pa Cum Musikus, he said that sometimes celebrating works of art doesn't have to be based on complicated and lofty philosophies and stories.
"A work title or visual art show can come with a simple story full of meaning which is likened to a liberating celebration," said Rudy, who also likes gardening.
Rudi Murdock and Irene Kusuma are carrying the theme "Liberating" because their work is the same as their mission to be free from mainstream standards. Events that combine exhibitions with fashion shows are nothing new, but at least Rudy hopes that this collaboration will add color to the world of fine arts in Semarang.
A cool treat that blends fine art and fashion into a fresh treat. At least in this performance, Rudy presented 15 paintings using mediacanvas, boards, fabrics, which apart from decorating the walls of Casa Roberto, were also "processed" by Irene into clothes worn by the models. Irene Kusuma responded to Rudy's work as something that had a new meaning. Irene, who has been involved in the world of fashion since 2020, processed paintings, rags and used MMT (billboards) for legislative candidates, into Irene Kusuma's designs which were attractive for the models to display.
The designer who owns the Irene Kusuma Vetement Studio (IKV Studi) brand has succeeded in presenting harmony and mix and match which provides a stunning visual presentation. The Milan and Paris Summer School dropout applies sustainable printing in his collections which prioritize the environment which is currently popular.
Meanwhile, artist Rudy, whose works have been exhibited in several European and Asian countries, chose "Liberating" because he believes that beauty must be free from mainstream labels or stereotypes formed by society.
Irene, a designer who has held several fashion shows in Singapore, believes that fashion must be free from certain labels. According to Irene, materials that are considered "trash" can also be transformed into high fashion with high value.
“Something that is beautiful to us may be something that is abnormal, strange and strange to other people. But we like work like this. "We are happy. So, that's it, let's be free from things that are considered normal," said Rudy.
Meanwhile, Kesit Widjanarko noted that freedom in the creative process for Rudy Murdock is a matter of principle. Rudy doesn't have to please other people in his work. But Rudy wants to paint or create art for himself.
