Resolution of "Lampung Art Camp 2024" from Wira Garden Valley

The grand event of the art camp “Lampung Art Camp 2024” initiated by the Lampung Arts Council at Wira Garden, Jl. Wan Abdurrahman, Batu Putuk, Bandar Lampung, which took place from 24-26 September 2024, was a success.
The “Lampung Art Camp 2024” activity which was opened by the Acting Governor of Lampung who was represented by the Acting Regent of Central Lampung who is also the Head of the Lampung Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Office Bobby Irawan, was closed by the Chairperson of the Lampung Academy Ir. Anshori Djausal, M.T, Thursday (26/09/2024).
The Chairperson of the Lampung Academy (AL) Anshori Djausal said that the Lampung Art Camp 2024 activity held by the Lampung Arts Council was an important milestone in efforts to advance culture in Lampung. "We hope that Lampung Art Camp 2024 will be the cornerstone of the next Lampung Art Camp activities. So it doesn"t just stop at this momentum, but must continue. It is hoped that Lampung artists at the next Lampung Art Camp will come with better ideas and works by carrying the potential and local wisdom of Lampung culture," said Anshori.
At the moment of Lampung Art Camp 2024, it also reminded Lampung artists of the long journey of the Lampung Arts Council which was born on September 17, 1993. "DKL was born 31 years ago, to be exact, September 17, 1993. Hopefully in the future the Lampung Arts Council can play a more important role in developing and advancing culture in Lampung Province," he added.
The "Lampung Art Camp 2024" event which carries the theme: "Celebrating the Land of Pepper, Weaving the Knots of Arts and Culture" has given birth to an important commitment from artists from the Land of Pepper in the form of the "Lampung Art Camp 2024 Resolution", namely; First, support the establishment of the Ministry of Culture. Second, facilitate and provide as many discussion spaces and public spaces as possible for art activists and their communities in order to revive the arts ecosystem in Lampung Province. Third, increase budget allocations that are more in favor of grassroots arts movements. Fourth, organize gatherings and grand arts markets that are held routinely every year. Fifth, encourage the issuance of regional government regulations, from the provincial to district/city levels in Lampung Province. Sixth, actively involve the role of the arts council in the process of formulating development policies in the field of arts and culture. Seventh, in helping the sustainability of Lampung artists, the regional government is required to prepare digital platforms to promote artists" works widely.
Meanwhile, the General Chairperson of the Lampung Arts Council, Professor Satria Bangsawan, in his opening remarks said that the theme of the "Lampung Art Camp" is "Strengthening Community Participation in Building the Lampung Arts Ecosystem."
This activity, Satria continued, is to celebrate the uniqueness of their own culture. Then sparked to create a space for people from various artistic backgrounds to meet, interact, and build a common understanding.
"In this Lampung Art Camp, artists are expected to be able to connect feelings, connect plans and ultimately connect works," said Satria.
Previously, the Director General of Culture of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Hilmar Farid, BA, MA, Ph.D in his cultural speech said that Lampung Art Camp 2024 gathered not to celebrate something more than just art but to gather to celebrate the land of pepper, a symbol of Lampung"s natural wealth that for centuries has been rooted in the lives of our people and culture.
"Lampung as a land rich in heritage and tradition has made a major contribution in the form of our national identity. The theme "Celebrating the Land of Pepper, Weaving the Knots of Art and Culture" is a reflection of our commitment to not only preserve this heritage but also weave the knots that unite art and culture in our daily lives," said Hilmar in his speech.
