Semarang - The Indonesian Cancer Children"s Love Foundation (YKAKI) Semarang Branch is again holding the Bald Dare Challenge event. This Dare to Be Bald event will be held in the context of International Childhood Cancer Day 2024 and will be held at The Park Mall, Semarang, Saturday – Sunday (24 – 25 February 2024) at 10.00 WIB – Finish.
Branch Head of the Indonesian Cancer Children"s Love Foundation (YKAKI) Semarang, Vita Mahaswari, said that this activity is a routine agenda to support the donation movement for children who are cancer survivors aged 0 – 19 years.
A series of activities commemorating International Child Cancer Day 2024 YKAKI Semarang apart from the Dare to Be Bald challenge activities, there are also Healthy Walking, Zumba Exercise, Socialization and Education events which aim to arouse sympathy and empathy in the community to take part and care for children who are cancer survivors.
"YKAKI collaborates with the Semarang Barbershop Community to provide haircuts for IDR 20 thousand. "By cutting your hair, it means you have made a donation," added Vita.
Funds collected from donations, continued Vita, will be used to finance the operation of temporary housing facilities (halfway houses) for child cancer patients and one companion for as long as they are in need.
Vita added that the proceeds from donations are not only used for shelter home operations but also for daily needs, medical assistance that is not covered by BPJS, and so on. YKAKI Semarang "OUR RUMAH" shelter house is located at Jalan Kedungjati 4-6, Randusari Village, South Semarang
"The "RUMAH OUR" shelter facility is intended for patients from underprivileged families who are forced to leave their hometowns to undergo treatment and care for a long period of time. "They not only come from Semarang City but from various cities, even from outside the island," explained Vita.
Donors can donate during the event or can also transfer to BCA account 0093435777 in the name of the Indonesian Cancer Children"s Love Foundation. Donations are open at any time, not necessarily while they are in progress.
Meanwhile, the CEO of PT Marimas Putra Kencana, Harjanto Halim, is sure to take part in the Dare to Bald Challenge every year as a form of empathy and solidarity with children who are cancer survivors.
Harjanto recounted his first experience of being shaved at the Dare to Be Bald event. "There was a spiritual experience that I experienced, a kind of feeling of sincerity that was released," he said.
Furthermore, Harjanto Halim, said that faith is like our hair, cut and pressed like anything until bald patches will definitely grow again. But according to Harjanto, building empathy and solidarity is important.
For this reason, Harjanto appealed and invited Semarang socialite women to dare to go bald. Women who are tough, strong and sincere come to The Park Mall to Dare to Be Bald.
"This time I want to invite women, mothers, sis-cici-cici to experience spiritualism, sincerity in letting go of the attachment to hair as a woman"s crown. "For the first 10 women who want to shave their hair, I will donate IDR 1 million each in their names as a donation to YKAKI," said Harjanto.
Come on, who dares? Please wait.
