Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Appreciates FKL - Ke-13 as KEN"s Best Event in 2024.

Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno expressed his appreciation for the success of the Semarang Old City Festival which was held for the 13th time and was included in the ranks of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy"s best events, namely the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) this year. 2024.
"I give my appreciation to the Semarang Old City Festival which has been steadfast for 13 years, and this year was again chosen as the best event in the archipelago in the Karisma Event Nusantara," said Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga when giving a speech and reviewing Pikat Wastra Nusantara which is part of the Old City Festival series in Oudetrap Building, Semarang, Thursday (12/9/2024).
The Old City Festival is an annual event initiated by the Oen Semarang Foundation (OSF) supported by the Semarang City Government and Central Java Province to promote the Semarang Old City area as a cultural and historical tourist attraction in Semarang City.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga explained that the Old City Festival, which will take place from 5 to 15 September 2024, has a strong attraction for tourists to visit.
Cultural Diversity and Acculturation
The event with the theme "Heritage in Diversity" reminds us of the diversity and acculturation of the typical culture of Semarang City, with a series of activities including Orchestra in Diversity, Wayang on The Street, Kagama Collaboration, Pikat Wastra Nusantara, Nyiur Nusantara Festival, Old Town Folklore, Putra Election Putri Kota Lama, and Nostalgic Culinary at Sentiling Market
"At the Old City Festival we will see creative economy products which are expected to attract foreign tourists, packaged with the spirit of Heritage in Harmony to respect our history and appreciate diversity," said the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy.The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy hopes that the Semarang Old City Festival can increase the movement of domestic and foreign tourists through the uniqueness of the Old City of Semarang with a strong and attractive cultural heritage area.
"Next year, hopefully we can enter the top 10 of the best events in the archipelago. And hopefully we can collaborate more, I was informed earlier that there would be cooperation with the Dutch. "Hopefully next year tourist visits and economic movements will be even higher, to accelerate economic growth and create job opportunities," said Sandiaga.
Also attending accompanied Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga, Director of Creative Economy Infrastructure of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, Oneng Setya Harini; Director of Archipelago Tourism Marketing, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf, Dwi Marhen Yono; and Deputy Chair of Commission X DPR RI, Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti.
