Merdeka Campus, Karangturi National University Holds "Unkartur Creativity Fiesta" Event

Semarang - Karangturi National University (Unkartur) Semarang held the "Unkartur Creativity Fiesta" with the title: "Local Food Innovation". This activity was held at the Unkartur Indoor Hall, Campus, Jalan Raden Patah, Semarang, Central Java, Saturday (17/02/24).
The activities, which were attended by pupils and students and were open to the public, took the form of talk shows, karaoke competitions, culinary bazaars and culinary competitions for processed food made from local food for students and were lively.
The talk show event with the theme: "Current Local Food Creation" presented Key Note Speaker, CEO of PT Marimas Putera Kencana Harjanto Kusuma Halim, M.Sc with the topic "Creating Local Food as a Business Idea" and Food Vlogger Cik Min with the topic "Perspective". Contemporary Local Food that Consumers Want and Tips and Tricks for Becoming a Food Volgger."
Chancellor of Karangturi National University Semarang Dra. Lusiawati Dewi, M.Sc. stated that the activities held by the Food Technology and English Language Education study program were a manifestation of the Independent Campus program. While the objectives include; sharpening the skills of high school children to be creative and innovative in processing local ingredients into contemporary culinary delights. "Independent Campus is part of the Ministry of Education and Research and Technology"s Independent Learning policy which brings universities closer to the world of business and industry," explained Chancellor Unkartur Lusi on the sidelines of the activity.
For this reason, continued Lusi, the talk show presented a resource person, Marimas boss Harjanto Halim, who is an American-educated entrepreneur and food technology expert. Meanwhile, Cik Min is a Food Vlogger who is known to be very good at reviewing culinary delights.
"This is in line with Unkartur which focuses on entrepreneurship and also emphasizes creativity and competence. "Unkartur does not only focus on science but more on practices to provide students with practical experience to be ready for work when they graduate," added Lusi.
At the talk show, Harjanto Halim also shared his business experience in managing the Marimas company, which he founded in 1995. On that occasion, Harjanto also gave tips and ideas for business. He gave an example of the potential of local food ingredients that sell well not only on the Indonesian market. “Ginger Milk products from Marimas are very popular in Africa. In fact, the demand is greater than the Indonesian market. They really like ginger from Indonesia. "Now they are even asking for other variants," concluded Harjanto.
Meanwhile, Cik Min, whose real name is Pricillia Fenny Wijanarko, shares her ups and downs as a Food Vlogger. Cik Min aka Cik Admin (@cikminkulineran) admits that she started being a Food Vlogger in 2013. According to her, the key to success is being fond of food, having a passion for the culinary world, liking taking photos and being consistent. “There were many ups and downs but I kept going. "I can be like this now because I consistently pursue what is my passion and of course also luck," said Cik Min.
On that occasion, Harjanto Halim and Cik Min together with the Chancellor of Unkartur were asked by Dra. Lusiawati Dewi, M.Sc was the Judge for the Processed Food Creation Competition made from local food ingredients which was attended by representative students from High Schools in Semarang City.
