Kota Lama Festival 2024 Ready to be Held with the Theme "Heritage in Diversity"

The grand event of the 2024 Old Town Festival is ready to be sponsored. The annual festival, which is entering its 13th edition, will take place from 5-15 September 2024. This year"s FKL carries the theme "Heritage in Diversity". This FKL event aims to invite the public to preserve the historic area of Kota Lama so that it becomes a desirable international tourist destination and cultural heritage.
The FKL celebration event was held at the event location, Metro Point, Kota Lama, Semarang, Wednesday (04/09/2024). The celebration event was marked by the cutting of the tumpeng by the Chair of the FKL Committee, Agus Suryono, which was then handed over to FKL initiator Yenny Megaputri, attended by, among others, Grace W Susanto, Benita Ariayani, JISS Comm and other invited guests.
Agus Suryono hopes that the 13th FKL event will run smoothly and successfully without missing anything. Kept away from harm and at peace.
"It is hoped that apart from being a cultural celebration, this FKL will also be a gathering and creative place for creative actors and art and culture history activists, strengthening the position of the Old City of Semarang as a center for arts and culture known at national and international levels," said Agus Suryono.
FKL 2024, which carries the title "Heritage in Diversity," continued Agus, displays cultural diversity in the city of Semarang, such as Javanese, Malay, Chinese and Arabic culture. Various interesting events, including Orchestra in Diversity, the Kota Lama River Competition, Sentiling Market Nostalgic Culinary, Wayang On the Streets, and International Fiesta Folklore, have been prepared to brighten up this festival.
One of the interesting events of this festival is the Sentiling Market which will take place from 5 to 15 September 2024, every day from 15.00 to 22.00 WIB at Metro Point Kota Lama, Semarang. This market presents legendary culinary tenants from all over the archipelago, not only from Semarang but from various cities in Indonesia who will tempt visitors" taste buds.
As part of a series of featured events, Wayang On The Street (WOTS) wathe actors from WO Ngesti Pandowo collaborated with Tirang Community with Director Budi Lee.
This event will open with the Gempita Nusantara ISBA 2 Marching Band Parade and will be enlivened by special guest star, Inayah Wahid. WOTS will be sponsored on Legi Friday, September 6 2024, at 19.00 WIB at Metro Point Park, Kota Lama. “This event is free and open to the public, but requires prior registration. "Don"t miss the opportunity to watch this performance which combines traditional art with a modern feel," said Grace W Susanto, WOTS initiator.
This FKL is now part of the Kharisma Event Nusantara curated by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, FKL 2024 promises various interesting events that are ready to attract visitors from various circles, including exhibitions of superior MSME products, fashion shows, exploring the old city, and various competitions other interesting things.s held with the unique play "Pandhawa Pitu."
