Kagama Collaboration Returns to Enliven the 2024 "Old City Festival" (FKL)

The Kagama (UGM Alumni Family) Performing Arts event at the RNI River Courtyard, Old Town, Semarang, Saturday (07/09/2024) was lively. The Kagama Collaboration Performance in the 2024 Old Town Festival (FKL) was filled by 5 UGM Alumni Family Communities consisting of Kagama Beksan, Kagama Gendhing, Kagama Dance, Kagama Bersenandung and Arsdeebee Bigband. In this FKL event, Kagama collaborated to present various traditional dances from various regions, gamelan playing, modern dance, song offerings and also an orchestra.
The Chairperson of the Committee Agus Suryono said that this year"s FKL was entering its 13th event. inviting the public to preserve the historic area of Old Town so that it becomes an international tourist destination and a coveted cultural heritage. The FKL event, Agus added, has been included in the tourism activity agenda of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN).
FKL 2024, which carries the theme "Heritage in Diversity," Agus continued, showcases the cultural diversity of Semarang City, such as Javanese, Malay, Chinese, and Arabic cultures. Various interesting events, including Orchestra in Diversity, Old City River Competition, Sentiling Market Nostalgia Culinary, Wayang On the Streets, and International Fiesta Folklore, have been prepared to enliven this festival.
Secretary of the Semarang City Culture and Tourism Office Samsul Bahri Siregar representing the Mayor of Semarang Dr. Ir. Hj. Hevearita G Rahayu in his speech said that the annual performance presented by Kagama Kolaborasi was not only lively, but also distinctive and unique, which highlighted the peaks of creativity of Universitas Gadjah Mada alumni in the arts and culture.
"The Semarang City Government greatly appreciates the role of Universitas Gadjah Mada alumni who faithfully participate in enlivening FKL every year. Hopefully the hard work of all brothers and sisters, in maintaining and developing arts and culture, can not only maintain and preserve the nation"s cultural heritage, but also the cultural heritage of humanity," said Mbak Ita in her speech He added that what was gratifying was that Kagama was so active in preserving culture and was consistent in creating works. I think this is part of the strength of the Indonesian nation, which despite progress in various fields, has never forgotten its traditional roots.
With the spirit of collaboration and real efforts in preserving culture and the arts, Kagama has shown that love for creativity knows no time and age limits. In fact, the more years pass, the more mature, and the more passionate it becomes. Hopefully, Kagama can continue to be an inspiring forum, side by side and providing various contributions through various types of professions for the advancement of the nation.
