HMMAL UNDIP Holds POMN in Kampung Bahari Tambalorok Semarang

The Logistics Management & Administration Student Association (HMMAL) Diponegoro University UNDIP) held the Ormawa Developing the Nation Program (POMN).
Community empowerment activities carried out by students through ORMAWA were carried out in Kampung Bahari Tambachlorok, Tanjung Mas Village, North Semarang District, Semarang City, Central Java, from the first Sunday of August to November 2024.
UNDIP HMMAL POMN Team Leader Dhewa Kusuma Radian explained that POMN is a community empowerment activity carried out by students through ORMAWA in universities, such as; Student Activity Unit (UKM), Study Program Student Association (HIMAPRODI), Student Executive Board (BEM), or other intra-campus ORMAWA.
"This community empowerment activity aims to develop students" positive character and facilitate the formation of life skills. "This program also aims to bring the benefits of campus to village communities," said Dhewa Kusuma Radia to the media at the activity location.
Furthermore, Dhewa explained that the UNDIP HMMAL POMN Team consisted of Dhewa Kusuma Radian, Novita Wulandari, Prayoga A. Rabanie, Novela Berliani Putri S., Rahmad Hidayat, Dini Liya Aryanti, Zulfa Aulia Indarto, Mohammad Zafran Baihaki R, Naufal Faliha Firmansyah, Alveto Akbar Saputra took two partners, namely Rizal Fahmi Imanullah and Muhammad Pungguh Assa"bana (Faculty of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry UNDIP) with lecturer Riandhita Eri Werdani., SMB., MSM carried out community empowerment in Kampung Bahari Tambak Lorok with the title: "Implementation of Green Logistics as the Creation of a Green Environment Through Community Empowerment in Tambak Lorok, Tanjung Mas, North Semarang.”Dhewa, further explained the background of why Tambalorok was the choice for this activity. According to Dhewa, the Tambachlorok area, he added, has a high carbon emissions index because it is located in Kampung Bahari Tambachlorok, 1.7 kilometers from Tanjung Mas Harbor and 5.7 kilometers from the Sinar Centra Cipta Industrial Area.
The condition of neighboring villages is risky for the surrounding community because carbon emissions can cause the sanitation of their ponds to be threatened, which will impact the main livelihood of the Tambachlorok community. 80% of them are fishermen whose main income is fishing.

"We chose Kampung Bahari Tambalorok as a target village for POMN activities because we saw the potential of Tambachlorok for the environment and its people. Where the environment in Tambachlorok can be developed further so that it can have a positive effect if it is improved. Then also in terms of the community who are enthusiastic about taking part in the activity "which aims to improve the environment very well," stressed Dhewa.
POMN HMMAL UDIP activities include: First, Socialization of Green Logistics & Hydroponics, Second, Creation of Hydroponic Installations. Third, Improving the layout of the Tambachlorok Greenhouse and Fourth, Hydroponic Planting using the DFT & NFT method"The POMN HMMAL UDIP also involves the Women"s Farmers Group chaired by Sri Wahyuni ​​who is coached by the Chair of RW 15 Tambak Lorok Slamet Riyanto, the Tambachlorok Community and the Semarang City Environmental Service," added Dhewa.
On a separate occasion, Chairwoman of Tani Cantik RW 15 Tambachlorok Sri Wahyuni ​​greatly appreciated and thanked HMMAL UNDIP for implementing POMN in Kampung Bahari Tambachlorok.
"We appreciate that POMN has helped produce good quality media. The crops produced are clean, fresh, and of good quality for consumption. So far, hydroponic efforts carried out by residents have always failed. "Hopefully the hydroponic assistance provided by friends can continue to develop as a complement to our activities," said Sri Wahani.
POMN HMMAL UNDIP, added Dhewa, collaborates with the Semarang City Environmental Service and partners so that the community provides full support by carrying out activities enthusiastically.
