Nature preservation is a legacy that will be passed down to the next generation. For this reason, concern for the environment must begin and be instilled from the smallest family environment. The reason is that the behavior of loving, caring for and protecting the environment has a positive impact on the sustainability of the earth and life.
Founder of Green Solidarity Theresia Tarigan, ST, M.SI, in Semarang, Wednesday (29/11/2023) said that through the Green Solidarity (Greensol) platform, they build community solidarity to share and increase knowledge and skills.
Humans as living creatures are obliged to care for the earth"s environment, a place that gives life. This can start from the family and community environment. Humans through their families must be instilled with a sense of caring for and ownership of the natural environment in which they grow and live.
"The areas of work on Green Solidarity aka Greensol include the family, the environment and the economy. Through this Greensol container, education can be provided to care for the environment, the easiest thing is not to throw rubbish carelessly. "The reason is, waste will become a burden on the environment," said Theresia Tarigan, who is familiarly called Tere.
Tere, who is also known as the Chair of the Semarang Transportation Care Community (KPTS), further explained that the activities that Greensol has carried out include a nursery program by providing ornamental plant seeds, fruit and also distributing them to the community by exchanging used plastic bottles.
“Greensol"s main activity currently with the community is managing household waste. Apart from that, we also held training on Eco Enzymes, making planting media and compost. Greensol also trains people to make their own cleaning fluids, such as; scented soap, detergent, laundry fragrance liquid, dishwashing soap and all-purpose soap packaged using used plastic bottles. "So apart from saving, you can also utilize waste," explained Tere at the Greensol headquarters at RT/RW 07/05, Banyumanik Village, Semarang City.
According to Tere, training is needed to prepare people to become skilled in implementing sustainable principles in various aspects of our lives. With training, it is hoped that the community will be skilled at managing the waste produced and increase creativity to improve the family economy and grow together.
Greensol runs an environmental conservation program by educating the community through families to plant ornamental and fruit plants. By caring for plants, residents will have lots of plants which they can share with their closest neighbors. Apart from that, socialization of planting programs, the use of eco enzymes and cleaning fluids was also carried out in collaboration with the PKK.
"Exchange plastic bottles for dish soap and plant seeds to residents who check the health of the bindu post in Banyumanik Village. Planting is fun. We provide free training for a minimum of 10 participants, temporarily for residents in Banyumanik, Gunng Pati and Gajah Mungkur sub-districts. "You can contact: WA 081325633871, IG @sahabat.tere and FB Theresia Tarigan," said Tere, locking the conversation.
