FKM-P Demands Investigation of Former PLT/PLH Head of South Sumatra Education Office

PALEMBANG | The ongoing commotion surrounding the 2024 High School/Vocational School Student Admission (PPDB) process in South Sumatra continues to be addressed by the Palembang Student Harmony Forum (FKMP) through protests. On Thursday, September 12, 2024, FKMP staged a demonstration in front of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor"s Office (Kejati Sumsel), demanding an investigation into former Acting Head of the South Sumatra Education Office, Sutoko.
"Former Acting Head of the South Sumatra Education Office is suspected of being involved in serious violations, including being the mastermind behind the disruption of the 2024 PPDB process in Palembang," declared Field Coordinator M Gamal Abdul Nasser during the protest.
Gamal further alleged that Sutoko was involved in a position-buying scheme for high school principals in South Sumatra. "The former Acting Education Head is also suspected of being involved in a corruption case related to the construction of new classrooms (RKB) at Buay Pemanca High School in Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Selatan," he added.
Meanwhile, Action Coordinator Wahyudi called on the South Sumatra Prosecutor"s Office to take immediate action, emphasizing the importance of resolving cases that have caused unrest in the community, particularly in the education sector.
Responding to FKMP"s demands, Kejati"s spokesperson, Okmadianto, thanked FKMP for bringing this information forward. "We have received the report from FKMP, and we will review it," said Okmadianto.
