Democracy Action in Palembang: KANBUR Coalition Advocates for Integrity in the 2024 Election

On Wednesday, March 1, 2024, the Coalition for Democracy Action for the People"s Justice (KANBUR), comprising the Sumsel Budget Center and the People"s Election Monitoring Front Sumsel, staged a demonstration at the offices of the Palembang City Election Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu). The purpose of the action was to voice demands regarding the conduct of the 2024 elections in Palembang.
The coalition expressed full support for the Palembang City KPU concerning the Continued Voting (PSL) at 20 Polling Stations (TPS). They emphasized the importance of integrity and transparency in the democratic process, considering PSL a critical step in maintaining the quality of democracy.
In his address, the action coordinator, A. H. Alamsyah, presented demands to Bawaslu Palembang to enforce regulations to ensure that the vote counting remains free from political interference. Alamsyah also disclosed the latest information that KPU had established schedules for Continued Voting (PSU), PSL, and Supplementary Voting (PSS) based on Bawaslu"s recommendations.
