The People"s Wayang performance, which was intended for the tobacco excise socialization and education program "Eradicating Illegal Cigarettes", was filled with hundreds of spectators who crowded into the open stage of Oudetrap. The performance, which featured the play: Gelanggang Throne of Wirata, waBagas Surya as the director can develop the actors" playing patterns so that they don"t get stuck in a standard but can respond to the stage and situation. The play Gelanggang Tahta Virata tells the story of many people who use any means to fulfill their greed and satisfy their personal desires.
One of the relatives of the Wirata palace, Kincakarupa had big ambitions to dominate the Wirata kingdom. Accompanied by Rajamala and Praupakenca, he developed a strategy to overthrow Wirata. They designed a human fighting arena.
Wirata"s sons Raden Seta, Raden Utara and Wratsangka carried a heavy burden to defend their father"s throne. But with the help of Bilawa, the butcher"s son from Wrihasnala, the sons of Virata were able to defend Virata"s throne from the evil threat of the Kincakarupa brothers.
There is a wise saying; Just look at Kang Melok"s goods. Say hello to Salah Balak Seleh, Say hello to Bibite Ala will disappear. Sura Dira Jayangingrat melts into the ringing of Pangastutis directed by Bagas Surya with the accompaniment of Githungswara musical accompaniment.
Secretary of the Disbudpar Samsul Bahri Siregar, representing the Head of the Semarang City Disbudpar, said that he really appreciates Ngesti Pamdowo, Tirang Community, which has made Wayang Orang now one of the viewing choices for the younger generation.
“I am very happy and proud that WOTS now has a younger generation of viewers. This is very encouraging for Wayang Orang in the city of Semarang to grow, not only the audience, many of the performers are also young people. "We hope that in the future WO Ngseti Pandowo will continue to innovate and develop his creativity so that his performances will continue to be popular with the public," concluded Sambul Bahri.
