Cengbengan Gus Dur 2024 Boen Hian Tong event was a success full of wisdom

The Cengbengan event which was pioneered and initiated by the Boen Hian Tong Social and Cultural Association (BHT) aka Rasa Dharma was full of wisdom and success.
The Cengbengan Gus Dur 2024 event will take place Saturday – Sunday (24 -25 August 2024). Gus Dur"s 2024 Cengbengan group, which departed from the Boen Hian Tong Headquarters, Gang Pinggir 31 Semarang, was attended by dozens of people using bus transportation.
Interestingly, this Cengbengan group started last year bringing Sinci Gus Dur which is usually placed on the main altar of Boen Hian Tong to pray together at the Tebu Ireng Islamic Boarding School, Jombang.
Chairman of the Boen Hian Tong Social and Cultural Association, Harjanto Halim, said that Cengbengan Gus Dur"s spiritual journey aims to cultivate and inherit the noble values of the Chinese Indonesian father"s example.
“KH Abdurrahman Wahid alias Gus Dur is the 4th President of the Republic of Indonesia. Gus Dur is a national teacher who supports minorities. "A figure who is highly appreciated and respected not only by Chinese people but by the entire Indonesian nation," he explained.
Harjanto hopes that the Cengbengan Gus Dur tradition started by Boen Hian Tong in the future will continue every year and be followed by more and more people. The reason is, continued Harjanto, Cengbengan has a good aim to maintain the tolerance and diversity taught by Gus Dur. The hope is that the Cengbengan tradition can grow and continue every year.
Ritual at the Gus Dur Monument
This year, Cengbengan will not have a procession to the grave like last year. So when he arrived at the Tebu Ireng Islamic Boarding School Complex Terminal, Diwek, Jombang, Sinci Gus Dur was paraded without musical accompaniment to the Gus Dur Monument which is located in front of the K.H. Indonesian Islamic Museum. Hasyim Asy"ari.The carnival was preceded by the Sapu Jagad team which cleaned the road in front of the procession. After the ritual was completed, the group cleaned up around the Gus Dur Monument area and then continued their journey to the Tomb Complex in the Tebu Ireng Islamic Boarding School area.
Arriving at the cemetery complex, the group coordinated by Gus Aan Ansori performed a ritual together to pray across religions. The joint prayer carried out by interfaith leaders took turns taking place with wisdom and solemnity.
After the ritual, representatives of the group led by Chairman Boen Hian Tong Harjanto Halim placed tuberose flowers on Gus Dur"s grave and cleaned around the grave. Then the pilgrimage ended with the group taking photos together and shopping for souvenirs.
Meeting Gus Dur"s daughter at the Indonesian Islamic Museum
Next, the group led by Ketum Boen Hian Tong Harjanto Halim visited the Indonesian Islamic Museum K.H. Hasyim Asy"ari who was welcomed by one of Gus Dur"s daughters, namely; Inayah Wulandari Wahid, S.Sn. On that occasion, Inayah immediately took the group on a tour of the museum which ended in the Gus Dur Room which contained artifacts and stories of Gus Dur"s life journey.
Please note, the Indonesian Islamic Museum K.H. Hasyim Asy"ari, which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo in 1918, contains various collections of historical artifacts from the development of Islam in Indonesia from the initial period of its emergence in the archipelago to the present.
The idea to establish MINHA was initiated by Gus Sholah, the younger brother of the late Gus Dur. He was moved by the many visitors who came to make a pilgrimage to Gus Dur"s grave. The museum aims to present information related to the history of the development of Islam in Indonesia and its contribution to the Indonesian nation.
