Celebrating 95th Anniversary, Sobokartti Holds Ballet "Puspita Adilaga, Srikandi Sang Senopati"

The Sobokartti Semarang Cultural Arts Association held a ballet performance "Puspita Adilaga, Srikandi Sang Senopati" and a series of student dance performances. The grand event was held to commemorate the 95th anniversary of the Sobokartti Building as well as commemorating the Five Day Battle in Semarang City.
The event, which was opened by Central Java DPRD member R.R Maria Tri Mangesti, was lively and fun and was held in the courtyard of the Sobokartti Building, Semarang, Sunday (20/10/2024).
The Sobokartti Building, which is now a Cultural Heritage Building, is located on Jalan Dr. Cipto 31-33, Semarang was founded on October 5 1929 and is known as a training center for traditional Javanese arts that exists to this day.
Chairman of the Sobokartti 95th Anniversary Committee, Darmadi, in his speech said, Sobokartti held a performance of the ballet "Puspita Adilaga, Srikandi Sang Senopati" in commemoration of the 95th anniversary of the Sobokartti Building as well as commemorating the history of the Five Day Battle in the City of Semarang."The Sobokartti Building is a silent witness to the history of the Five Day Battle in Semarang City. "There are several fighters who died in the Sobokartti Building area," Darmadi added.
Darmadi hopes that the Sobokartti Arts Building, which is now 95 years old, will remain a place for training in traditional Javanese arts in the city of Semarang. "In the future, we hope that Sobokartti will continue to be a place to explore, develop and preserve Javanese traditional arts in particular," said Darmadi.
Head of Sub-Coordinator for History and Cultural Heritage of the Semarang City Culture and Tourism Service Haryadi Dwi Prastyo, S.Sn, M.M representing the Mayor of Semarang City in his speech said, the Semarang City Government really appreciates Sobokartti as a place for upstream cultural development which includes traditional arts, especially Javanese, consistently. developed and preserved. ."To this day, the Sobokartti Building still stands strong and has become a cultural heritage site. "Sobokartti is the cultural forerunner to mobilize the younger generation to develop and preserve traditional arts," said Haryadi.
The hope, continued Haryadi, is that in the future Sobokartti can produce professional artists so they can appear at national events. Sobokartti has now become one of the icons and bastions of traditional arts in the city of Semarang.
The Head of the Central Java Education and Culture Service, represented by Budi Santoso, S. Sos, said he appreciated and gave appreciation to Sanggar Sobokartti which continues to monitor, develop and preserve Javanese arts and culture.
"In 2024, Disdikbud will distribute grant funds to various art studios in Central Java, one of which is Sanggar Sobokartti. Sobokartti put these grant funds to good use for ballet and dance performances on this day. "We hope that in the future, Sobokartti, which celebrates its 95th anniversary, will be even more successful," said Budi Santoso.

"We, DRRD members, continue to strive to find a grant budget for the development of traditional arts. "The hope is that in the future Sobokartti, as one of the upstream sources of Javanese culture, will continue to play an active role in developing Javanese traditional arts, especially in the city of Semarang," concluded Maria Tri Mangesti.
