Bambang Toko Witjaksono Opens "Sewu Children"s Paintings #6" COLLABORATION Exhibition

The grand exhibition "Sewu Painting Children #6" entitled: COLLABORATION was officially held. "COLLABORATION" exhibition which sponsors thousands of paintings by children and invited artists from Yogyakarta and Semarang. This fine art exhibition runs from 26 October 2024 to 08 November 2024.
The exhibition was opened by ARTJOG Main Curator Bambang Toko Witjaksono, at Sungai Siluk School, Siluk (SSS) II Selopamioro, Imogiri District, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Saturday (26/10/2024).
The opening of this exhibition was cultural figures and professional artists from Yogyakarta, including; Rain Rosidi, Yuswantoro Adi, Bayu Widodo, Utin Rini, Patub Pork, Gerlups, and Anang Nachiudin. Apart from that, there are also children participating painters, parents as companions, teachers, the general public, and professional artists. Also appreciating the village head and kamituwo of Selopamioro Dukuh Siluk 2 sub-district.
ISI Yogyakarta fine arts lecturer cum artist Bambang Toko Witjaksono in his speech advised that collaboration between cities (Semarang-Yogyakarta) must be maintained. Because exhibitions like this are very useful and necessary.
"In the future, we hope that we can develop participants from other cities and even between countries," stressed the Main Curator of ARTJOG
Inter-city collaborative art exhibitions have various benefits, both for artists, communities and society at large. Collaboration between cities allows artists to exchange ideas and inspiration.
“Each city has different cultural characteristics, which can enrich the works of art produced. Helping artists expand their network with"meeting artists from other cities, curators, collectors and visitors from diverse backgrounds," emphasized this art practitioner cum academic.
On that occasion, Bambang also praised the rapid development of the Siluk River School, so that it now has an art gallery. Apart from office facilities, classes, library, performance stage and cafe.
Bambang Toko Witjaksono also gave a thumbs up to the art communities from Semarang who were able to survive and provide new colors to their art movement.
The owner of the Siluk Kuart Kuat Art School, welcomed this collaborative exhibition. According to Kuat, this exhibition allows artists to better introduce the uniqueness of their respective cities.
"Artists can introduce local culture from their respective words in their paintings to a wider audience," added Kuat.
Semarang artist representative M. Salafi Handoyo stated that this collaboration would open up a space for dialogue for the community regarding various art themes."This collaborative exhibition provides education for visitors to learn more about the arts and culture of other cities. "The presence of artists and visitors can increase local income through art tourism," said Ridho, M. Salafi Handoyo"s nickname.
Meanwhile, Chair of the AECI Satya Nirmana Foundation Singgih Adhi Prasetyo added that collaboration allows artists to experiment and create innovative works by combining unique styles, techniques or mediums from each city.
"The nature of events like this will strengthen the fine arts ecosystem in Indonesia, encourage diversity in work, and build cross-city appreciation for local arts and culture," said Singgih, who works as a lecturer at UPGRIS Semarang.
